Mission and vision

Mission

CIRO, the expertise centre for chronic organ failure, is a centre that collects knowledge in the field of diagnosis and comprehensive treatment of patients with complex chronic organ failure, such as COPD, heart failure and sleep-related breathing disorders. The treatment of multiple complex and other chronic disorders is fully client-focussed.

Vision

The mission results in a vision that consists of the following aspects:

  1. The focal position of the client is expressed in the approach of the patient as a partner in the health care process.
  2. CIRO endorses the vision on quality, which consists of providing effective, safe, efficient, timely, patient-oriented health care for everyone.
  3. As an expertise centre, CIRO develops treatment programmes that meet the specific needs of individual patients. To achieve an optimal treatment programme, we continuously evaluate the treatment programmes on the basis of specialised diagnostics.
  4. We disseminate knowledge both nationally and internationally, through publications in journals and presentations at congresses and symposiums.
  5. An expertise centre that collects knowledge in the field of diagnosis and treatment of patients with complex chronic organ failure not only requires highly educated and well-trained staff, but also develops new curricula in co-operation with training institutes.
  6. CIRO drives innovation and connects the academic function, health care providers and industry. Innovation programmes focus not only on improving patient satisfaction, they also have a socio economic impact.
